Why do I have so few views, since I have 52 followers?

There are 52 people following my blog but i usually get about ten views a day. I don’t understand. Are my followers just not tuning in?

It’s certainly possible. Just because you have 52 followers doesn’t mean they’re visiting your site daily. This doesn’t mean they’re not reading your content though. Some might only check in weekly, or read your new-post notifications over email (rather than at your site), and others may use their Reader to view your posts.
There are a few ways followers can read your posts without visiting your site, and therefore your site isn’t “seeing” them as site-views in your Stats page.

Thanks, thatrobyn, for your speedy response. I feel better knowing that in reality I’m likely getting more than 10 views a day. Is there any way to see how much traffic I’m really getting, no matter what method the person is using to access my stuff?

Bruce, Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to know. It’s just not trackable to know if someone opened up an email, for instance.
