Why do I have to approve my own edits? And why do they then appear as comments?

  Hi.

  I’m sure this has been asked elsewhere but I can’t find a quick answer. Whenever I edit a post that I have already published, I am sent an email saying that it needs to be approved. After approval, my update appears as comment under the post. Is there a way of fixing this so that (a) updates are automatically approved and (b) nothing appears in the comments section. I want to do all this while still giving visitors the freedome to leave their own comments.
