Why do I have to change my password everytime I log in?

  I just use WordPress as a reader and signing in to post comments. I’m constantly being told my username and password combo are not valid. So I create a new password and use it for a while, lately just once. Then the same thing happens again. This time it stated that my username wasn’t valid and locked me out. i’ve been having this issue almost every time for the last 6 months at least.
  Please help!

  What browser and version are you using when you log into WordPress.com? https://whatbrowser.org/

  If it is Internet Explorer, please make sure it is not in “Compatibility Mode”.

  Do you routinely log out and then dump your browser cache and cookies?

  Hi there,

  When you log in, do you use the login page at https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php or do you log in on a different page?

  Also, do you type in your username and password each time or do you have them saved in your browser or a password manager?

  That information will help us narrow down what might be going on.

  justjennifer-I use Google Chrome. I never log out. I never dump my cookies, and I clear my cache maybe once every couple of months or more.

  achelmcr-I use it to log in to post comments on articles on other sites. Some sites require wordpress, discus, google+, etc. I alway click ‘save”. but it doesn’t.

  Hi Robin,

  Can you give links to some of the sites where you tried to post a comment and your login details weren’t accepted? I can then take a look at the comment systems those sites use. (I can only help if the site uses WordPress.com login details.)
