    Why do I have to have only a Business Plan? Can I use a basic plan?

    For you to enjoy more amazing features provided by WordPress.com, it will be best to upgrade to one of these four options:
    – Personal plan
    – Premium plan
    – Business plan
    – eCommerce plan.

    In addition to receiving best-in-class hosting, Jetpack essential features, and a pre-installed SSL certificate, you can have more features as you upgrade to any of the four plans listed above. If you are looking to expand and brand your business, then the basic plan wouldn’t be best for you.
    You can start by upgrading to the personal plan and move up as the need arises.

    The site you have on your account now is a free site, and you are welcome to keep your site free for as long as you wish. Upgrades are optional and add features and capabilities your site does not have now, such as a custom site address (without wordpress.com in it) or the ability to upload 3rd party themes or plugins “designed for WordPress”
