Why do i have to pay so much??

trying to add a domain i own, but it is asking me to pay a whopping amount of 96$. why???

Custom domains are a feature of paid plans, which is why you are being asked to upgrade. You can choose from any of our plans though — add the plan to your cart first and then add the custom domain you would like to use.

1. Have you waited the required 30 days before attempting to re-use an email address with a different account?
2. The Blogger plan gives you the option of creating a new custom domain ending in .blog. If you already have a .blog address (or any other extension) you wish to map/transfer you’ll need a Personal plan minimum. Perhaps a member of staff could confirm this as you did start this thread asking about adding a domain you own to a WordPress.com site. -

As @themagicrobot indicated above, that email will only become available once it’s completely deleted from the closed account after 30 days. We can bypass this waiting period by deleting it manually, but we can only do that on a request from that actual email.
When you closed the account we sent you a confirmation email. Please reply to that email to request this.

You should be able to use your existing .blog domain with the Blogger plan, yes.

Sorry I am having to post in here to get your attention because I am having a lot of problems with the newly created blog.
1. I couldn’t lanch it at all.
2. When I could press the launch button, it took me to a place where I had to select a domain, which I thought I already did before I created the blog. I had no choice but click on one in order for it to continue going.
3. Then I was asked to choose a paid plan. I did not see any Free choice at all. I thought I clicked on the cheapest one to see what happened. And now I saw a request to pay $120 in the cart. Looks like it is a Premium plan which I believed I did not pick.
4. Another issue: I created a Page, but the title of the page did not show up on the top menu next to Home and Contact.
Please help with Launching and Page problems. In terms of the paid plan, can I please choose a Free plan. I did not know why this choice did not come up to me.

I got into my cart and deleted the two orders. I did not want to upgrade at this stage. I am just wondering whether that was the reason why I could not launch my site. Right now it keeps asking me to choose a paid plan (there is no choice of a Free plan) in order to be able to continue proceeding.
Please help with this and the Page problem as specified above.
My apologies again for putting it in this topic. I did post these two issues in two other separate topics but haven’t got solutions.

Finally I figured it out how to launch it without having to pay. Why does WordPress ask people to pay for a domain and a paid plan while they have already picked a domain with a free plan before? This was a bit confusing.
