    why do i have to wait 60 days to transfer my domain?

    I would like to transfer my domain, because I did not realize I was signed up on wordpress.com, and i would like to be signed up on wordpress.org.

    Is there any way to bypass this 60 day wait period?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    Please note, ICANN (the governing body over domains) places a 60 day lock on all new domain registrations and renewals to prevent fraud. This is a requirement placed on all domain registrars, so there is no way to waive it.

    Please note that you can keep your domain registered through us and still host elsewhere. Here’s a list of recommended hosts when moving to self-hosted, WordPress.org:
