why do I keep getting this? ‘Ownership verification failed’

  As instructed I’ve tried HTML Tag and Domain name provider, I have tried this several times over a week with no results. I have looked at the forums and they all direct me back to the start of the issue. It’s very frustrating as it should be a simple thing to do. my URL is https://stressfreesoccer.wordpress.com

  What exactly are you trying to do? If you’re trying to verify your site with Google, you’ll want to follow these exact steps:

  https://wordpress.com/support/webmaster-tools/#google-search-console

  Note, however, that it’s not needed. Your site will be indexed by Google anyway, you may do it to speed up the process.
