Why do I only see the YouTube URL in my post and not the video?
-
I published the post privately because this is my first time trying to embed something from YouTube and I did not want my subscribers to be notified of a new post if the video was not working. I wanted to test it first.

Make sure that you’re just pasting the URL into your post and no making a link out of it.
-
I know that. I read the support document regarding YouTube. The URL is not blue, is not a link. Does the URL only become a video screen when I publish to the public?
-
It might, also, visit the video page and make sure that owner hasn’t disabled embedding.
-
I am the owner and I have not disabled embedding. Please answer my question: Does the URL only become a video player when I publish to the public?
-
-
Well, I published to the public, my subscribers received the new post by email, and there’s no video player. The YouTube URL, which was not a link when I pasted it on its own line in the post, is now a link in my subscribers emails. Clicking on it brings them to YouTube. Is that what was supposed to happen? (You are not getting hugs for your support on this issue.)

It looks like the link you inserted into your post was a link to your YouTube channel, rather than the video itself.
Can you try inserting the following?
-
YOU DID IT!!! Hugs to you! But how did you come up with that URL? I followed the Support instructions and copied the URL that showed while the video was playing on YouTube. But that was not the right URL, apparently. So for future reference, would you KINDLY detail the correct procedure for embedding a YouTube video in a WordPress post. PLEASE, dear Moderator???
-
You’ll need to use the actual URL for the video’s page on YouTube, not a channel specific page.
-
Precisely. But I cannot find my own video on YouTube unless I go in through my channel. I think I read somewhere that it may take several days after uploading for a new video to show up in search results. HOW DID EVARLESE FIND IT?
-
Basically, when you’re viewing the video in your channel, right-click on it (control-click if you have a single-button mouse) and open the video in a new tab or window. This will take you straight to the video’s main page.
Alternatively, search for the video’s title from YouTube.com.
