Why do my blog posts show only title

  I have a page called blog for posts to be seen in.
  This page shows blogs in full. It will also show partial posts with a read more button.

  When clicking on the read more button or the title of the post when showing full posts. As intended a full page for the post is opened that shows the post title, the categories and the comment sections.
  There is no post content visible.

  Clicking a category results in the blog post showing content.
  I have reinstalled WP4.00 and my theme. WP 4.01 automatically updated yesterday.
  I have deactivated any new plugins that may have been installed since the problem occurred and reactivated them without success.
  Any help would be appreciated.

  This site has worked correctly for a long time, and I noticed the problem only recently. I am not sure if it was there before WP4.00
