Why do my email subscribers get an email that there is a new post days after I publish?

    Some of my email subscribers have complained that they don’t get an email that there is a new post right away. They end up only knowing that I published a new post because I share it on social media. Why are the email subscriptions taking so long?

    Because there are literally thousands of new posts being published on WordPress.com every day (56 million total in October 2015), it may take some time before a notification is sent by email, but I don’t know why it would be days after you publish a new post. The longest I’ve ever waited for an email was a matter of hours.

    I’ve tagged this for Staff input.

    @jcalanayan:

    Are they receiving the emails at all? If not, I’d ask them to check their junk/spam folders in case they’re caught in there.

    I also recommend you ask them to look at their email delivery schedule (from the page linked below). It could be that they’ve scheduled delivery on a weekly basis, or at a particular time frame: https://wordpress.com/me/notifications
