Why do my new posts change into new pages when I publish?
-
I have been having a bit of trouble this morning with WordPress. When I create a new post (and I am sure to click on “add” next to “post” and NOT “page”), all seems to go normally, I can add tags and categories, etc. Then, after I click publish and go to look at the new post, it is instead a new page. Which means that I have to re-do it as a post, go and delete the page, and then go into my menus to remove it as a page header. This happened several times this morning, which is why I am SURE I am clicking on add a new post, rather than page…. but it still happens.
Advice on how to avoid this in the future? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
Are you doing this on the Global Dashboard or on the WP Admin Dashboard? The Global Dashboard is the first page you see after you log in to WordPress.com. It has “My Sites” and “Reader” at the top left corner of the page. The WP Admin Dashboard on the other hand is more specific to a blog under your WordPress.com account.

I usually do everything at my blog’s WP Admin Dashboard because everything works fine there.
Here’s the direct link where you can add a new post:

Hi, and thanks for your response.
I had tried making a new post both through the Global Dashboard and the Admin Dashboard – same result. It hasn’t done it again since that day, and posts are published as posts again. I don’t know what happened that day, but it was really frustrating to have to re-do posts over and over, and I hate to flood my followers’ inboxes with a bunch of emails.
Any insight into why this happened and how to avoid it? Or was it a fluke day? -
