Why do my tags not help me be found in Google?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi everyone my question is this. I made tags for my blog page neverseenoutside.wordpress.com. When I put those tags in google search my blog page is not coming up. This is the example here https://www.google.com/search?q=%22never+seen+outside%22+%22don%27t+say+much%22&filter=0&biw=1920&bih=973 there are only a few results. The two tags are “Never seen outside” and “don’t say much”

    thanks for your replies

  • Howdy –

Thanks for writing to us. I’ve had a quick look at the site and have some suggestions to help you gain momentum and broaden the audience that is seeing your important work.

Using a custom domain, rather than a free site address, is going to give your project a more professional look – but more importantly it’s going to help your SEO. It is a building block for a solid reputation and brand.

Custom domains are included in our hosting plans. The hosting plans start at $4/month. You can get a domain as part of our personal plan.

Additionally, here are some more considerations to help grow your audience.

    Increase Your Site’s Traffic

I didn’t see an email subscription option on the site, either, and that will help folks stay up to date with your updates. https://wordpress.com/support/subscriptions-and-newsletters/

If you have any social media accounts related to this project we can help you get those integrated as well.

Google takes about 6 weeks to pick up on new sites and get them fully indexed in their system. During that waiting time, the best thing you can do is continue making content and getting that published on the front end of your site. Everything you need for good SEO ranking is already built in to WordPress.com.

We offer additional features as part of the business plan which you can explore here: https://wordpress.com/support/seo-tools/
