Why do my videos look bad now?
-
After I upload a video and it is processed, it looks bad – very pixilated. My older videos (which were rendered at a lower quality level) look better. I have played with the player size to see if it was a ratio problem, but that didn’t help.
Am I doing something wrong with the new format? Has the processing changed?
Thanks!
Matt

WordPress went through an upgrade last week. Maybe something went wrong with it a bit with the update.

This helps in that others are having the same problem. Will there be a solution? Will we be able to get our videos to display at the same quality as they did before?
Thanks!

They are working on it. Got this message from Hailin on april 11
“We’ve improved video quality on videos within 3 minutes long.
Sorry that your videos are over three minutes. We will continue to work to improve the video quality for longer videos.Meanwhile, the old vidavee videos are back. You can click “Insert into Post” to make use of them again. Currently previewing is not yet finished.”

I just discovered that the there is a problem with the aspect ratio of encoded videos.
My videos are 400×300
When uploaded to site and encoded for flash, the ratio changes
the encoding distorts the ratio, its distorted so that the hight is not the same
its squeezed down some per cent -

Are we sure it’s fixed? I just uploaded a video and am having the same problem. I have tried different ratios (including 400 x 300) and qualities and formats. I still have a video that is pixilated.
I saw this in another post and maybe asking twice will get an answer… what is the proper ratio and format for a video to be rendered at so that it will not come out pixilated? Are they still working on the “over three minutes” problem?
Thanks!

As far as I know, they are still working on the “over three minutes” problem.
The ratio is fixed, and has nothing to do with the resulting quality of the video. I tried some videos under 3 min and they were ok, good as before the new dashboard thingy.
Try upload a video under 3min -
Got message yesterday that they have improved video quality for videos longer than 3 minutes. I tested some videos and its really good, as far as I can judge. Have to test more though, but it’s a big improvement. I still can detect some minor pixelation in the darker areas of the image…
