Why do posts disappear from reader when tags are updated?

Why do posts disappear from reader when tags are updated? We’ve noticed that if we ever update the tags after the post has been published, the original post disappears off the reader. This happened today when we posted on cutterlight.com and added one more tag (hunting) after about an hour. Is there a way to avoid this?

If you added another tag to this post: http://cutterlight.com/2014/01/03/whalers-stew-with-beef-or-wild-game-a-hot-filling-meal-on-a-cold-winter-day/
Then you would have had a total tag+category number that exceeded 15. That would have caused your post to disappear from the reader.
Please see this section of the “tags” support page:
Missing Posts
If you have published a new post and it isn’t showing up on tag pages for the tags and categories that you’ve used, there are several possible explanations:
1. You are using too many categories or tags. In most cases, there’s no need to assign more than a handful of tags per post. If you use more than 15 tags and categories (total), your posts will not appear on tag pages (because you don’t want to see irrelevant content showing up there, and neither do we).
