Why do recent posts disappear when I put up something new?

    Sometimes when I send a new post via e-mail, the three or four previous posts disappear from WordPress.com and the blog display skips to page 2 or so. I can make the missing posts reappear by opening the newest post in WordPress and “editing” it, even if I don’t change a thing, just hit “update.” How can I keep this from happening? Having to go to WordPress removes the ease of posting via e-mail. Thanks!
