Why do recent posts not appear when copying a post?

Is WordPress deliberately sabotaging the ability to copy a post? First that feature is omitted from the new post editor. Now it doesn’t work in the classic editor: Recent posts do not appear in the list of posts you can choose from, even if you search for a word in the body or the title of the post. Working from a copy of a previous post is a feature I’ve used extremely frequently (for posts in a series, where I want to use a variant of the same title — Blah blah part 1, Blah blah part 2, etc. — and the same categories and tags. I’m really angry that this no longer works.

There are missing features in the new editor. The good news is that they still exist in the classic editor.

You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it. To create posts in the classic editor On the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New for you that link is below.

Dashboard > Posts > All Posts one can hover over any post title and click the Edit link. and proceed with editing. -
In the time between posting my problem and now, I’ve had 5 more search engine hits, 8 views and no new visitors.
I’ve been doing this long enough that I know how it works but I also know how it fails. This would be the third failure in the last two months. I have never cried the sky is falling when it wasn’t.
Zero visitors and a lot of views and search engine referrals over the last few hours means the stats are not updating.

I clicked on the link for my post on the e-mail I received when you replied to me, it looks like the wrong post came up. I guess that’s another problem. :-)
I tried to delete my post when I realized the problem but don’t know how to do it….sorry!
