Why do some readers get an incorrect sign-in message?
-
The following message is displayed, incorrectly, to many of my readers; they are getting angry and frustrated with not being able to comment. It just started yesterday, I tried to update my dashboard to allow them in, but it keeps happening.
“That email address is associated with an existing WordPress.com account, please log in to use it.”
The above quoted message is WRONG but it keeps coming up. Why is there so much extra work for my readers to comment now? I don’t want this to be the norm.

And now I just found out that even other WordPress bloggers can’t get in. One DID get in but it won’t link back to her site.
Please help!

Hi there,
We’ve deployed a couple of recent fixes that should take care of this.
You might ask your readers to try commenting again.
If they comment with an email address that’s associated with a WordPress.com account, they’ll need to first sign in.
Otherwise, there’s no need to register for an account unless this is something you require.
Don’t hesitate to contact us again if you need anymore help. :-)
