Why do some widgets appear and others not?

  I’m wondering if someone can tell me why only some of the widgets I’ve selected appear on my sidebar. I’m using WordPress theme. Specifically, I’d like to have an RSS widget on the sidebar. Strangely, it appears as selected on the dashboard but not on my homepage. Thanks!

  This is the link to wordpress.com support documentation. http://en.support.wordpress.com/ I recommend bookmarking it as you will find answer there faster than waiting for volunteers to look them up for you
