why does a viewer have to have a WordPress blog too
-
I don’t want my blog to be completely public but my friends and family don’t have or want to have blogs. How can they access my blog?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
For a private blog readers have to have a WordPress.com account otherwise the system cannot tell if they are “allowed” viewers or not.

Thank you for this input. I can understand that a person has to register, but I don’t understand why they have to set up a blog. Why can’t they just register as a follower?
-
they don’t need to set up a blog – but the set up a blog option might be a bit in their face – at any rate – they can skip the blog thing – but a blog will be reserved for their account name,

jallegro2014, personally I wouldn’t bother, but when they really need to, there is an option to erase the blog but keep the wordpress.com account.
