Why does attaching a jpeg image not work?

When I add an image from the media library into a post, the image is not visible in the post although the image does state that it is attached to the post

Yes, I have followed the instructions. The problem appears to only be with a specific .jpg image (http://bccfccc.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/aifartwork3.jpg). I can successfully attach other images in my media library to the specific post (http://bccfccc.org/2012/02/27/april-in-florence/). I have cleaned browser (Chrome) cache and cookies.

Neither uploading the specific image while editing the post nor attaching the specific image from the media library while editing the image works. Although the image in the library states that the image (.jpg) is attached, the image cannot be viewed in the post. I’ve deleted the image many times and re-uploaded to no avail. However, I can successfully attach and view another image (.jpg) to the post from the media library. Go figure..

If so, where do you want it to appear at?

The caption which I added to the image, which you added to the library, cannot be viewed under the image. If you click on ‘edit’ for this image in the library you should see the caption. Can you view the caption under the image on the post? I cannot

I uploaded the image separately to try to duplicate the problem.
Try editing the image from within the post, then add the caption there.

That is exactly what I did. I edited your image and added the caption, Then I clicked on update image
