Why does blog name contain 'dotcom' in it?

Sorry if I’m being dumb but I’ve just created my first ever blog (supposed to be tenfruitandveg.com) via WordPress on a premium account and also selecting the option for the URL not to contain ‘wordpress’ in it. However, the URL for it seems to be ‘tenfruitandvegdotcom.wordpress.com’. Obviously I really don’t want ‘dotcom’ in the actual URL, and am also disappointed that wordpress is in the URL despite me selecting for it not to be – maybe I misunderstood?

Id you tried to set up domain mapping and failed to register an underlying .wordpress.com blog URL to map from to the domain URL then the software provided the underlying dotcom URL so you could proceed with domain mapping.

It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help.There is nothing wrong with your site. By default, the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post, not a page the front page error message and search box that appears on every new WordPress.COM blog will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
