It really depends on what you need. GoDaddy WordPress is one of the “self hosted” options so it comes with more freedom, but also more responsibility. Have you read the WordPress.COM vs. WordPress.ORG article? It will be a very helpful tool in making your decision.
Personally, I love WordPress.com and prefer to use it whenever possible because for me the ease of use, security, stability, and access to these forums outweighs the restrictions on code and plugins.
I do have one site on GoDaddy hosted WordPress because I needed to add BuddyPress and other plugins that weren’t possible on WordPress.COM. I haven’t had any problems yet, but it does make me a little nervous as I have much greater confidence in the support and service provided by Automattic than I do in that of GoDaddy.

Here are the 7 reasons I returned to WordPress.COM hosting after self-hosting my private blog for a couple of years http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/10/30/7-reasons-why-i-like-wordpress-com-hosting/

Auxclass, how is that rude? I’m trying to do business and make a decision on what site to go with. If WordPress had a phone number, I would have called.

Hi funballznw,
These are community forums, and most of the people who answer questions are volunteers just trying to make the WordPress.com happier for everyone.
Did you know that WordPress.com offers a 30-day refund on most of their premium offerings (except domain names, which are 48 hours)?
Do give WordPress.com a spin. If you don’t need the premium features or support, you won’t have to pay even a cent.
