Why does it look different when I share now on Facebook?
-
It used to be that when I shared to Facebook, I had an opportunity to replace the title that automatically shows up with a more specific comment–and I often did that because I liked being able to introduce the post with some clever hook and to avoid redundancy because the title always showed up as a link anyway next to the graphic I chose to attach to the post. Anyway, it looks different now, does not seem as clear, and sometimes the graphic obscures the link so that it appears I’m posting a graphic and not a blog announcement. Anyway, wondering if there’s any way I can customize the way my Facebook share appears, back to the old way.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there – Facebook prioritizes image shares in its stream, so now if you have a prominent image in your post, your Facebook post has an image-style format.
You can still customize the message, though.
If that doesn’t explain what you’re seeing, can you please make a screenshot of how the post looks on Facebook? Here are instructions for how to make a screenshot: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/
You can upload it to your blog’s Media Library and I can look at it there.
You can always share your posts on Facebook manually if you don’t like the way that they’re styled in Publicize.

Thanks for this, Eurello.
I made a screen shot of my last Facebook posting of a blog entry and it’s in my media library now. I think the first thing you say here is true–that the image is prominent (large) and Facebook wants to think it’s a photo and not a blog entry link. But additionally, my little customized message, in this case “True Story,” is then butted up against the title of the blog entry, “Screen Dilemma,” and as far as I know, I did not tell it to do that. And the link to the actual blog is in a new place at the top of the posting. You’re also probably right that it would be relatively easy to bypass the Publicize feature and post a link manually to Facebook. I guess I just liked it better the old way, don’t see this as an improvement, and think it might cause people not to know what it is I’m posting and therefore, lose me some readership. Is there something I’m missing about this? Anyway, thanks again. For awhile, perhaps, I’ll manually post to Faceplant.

Yep, that’s the new style for image posts. Honestly, it’s better as far as visibility goes – since image posts are prioritized by Facebook, that format of post will be featured more in the newsfeed than link posts will. To a large extent, Facebook controls how posts are formatted on their end.
Sharing posts manually is the best way to control how they appear, though.
