Why does it say my blog URL already exists?
-
I recently changed my username. During the process, I opted to have OLDUSERNAME.wordpress.com changed to NEWUSERNAME.wordpress.com, and have OLDUSERNAME.wordpress.com discarded. However, once the changes were submitted my username changed but the NEWUSERNAME.wordpress.com blog doesn’t show up on my dashboard. When I try to create it, it says the URL is already taken.
To see if I really owned the URL or not, I started the process to change the username again. I was again asked if I wanted to have my old blog ULR (now NEWUSERNAME.wordpress.com) changed to match my new(er) username. I didn’t proceed with the username change this second time, I just wanted to see if it said I owned NEWUSERNAME.wordpress.com, which it did. But it is that URL that isn’t showing up on my dashboard and that is supposedly already taken.
Any suggestions as to what may be going on?

If you’re referring to the one to which the link is given, then it has been deleted and you will not be able to get it back again. If that was the old blog, please give the URL starting with http:// of the new one. Thank you.

It is the one that I linked. I am aware that it says it has been deleted. However, I did not delete it. In fact, per my knowledge, it was created when I switched from my old username to my new one. Hence, my confusion. If the URL existed and was deleted before I switched my username, would the system still prompt me to switch to it to match my new username? Or, does the fact that the system suggested that as an option mean that it was not yet created?
And, if it had already been created and was deleted, thus barring me from using it, why was I not told that when I chose to have my old ULR discarded and my new URL changed to match my new username?
