Why does it take 10/20 minutes to execute a simple command on my blog?
-
I’ve been having trouble accessing my blog, theintermediateperiod.wordpress.com since May 29. When it does allow me sign in, it is incredibly slow (10 minutes between pressing “Edit” and the editing page popping up, 20 minutes to reach the “Support” page from my blog, etc.) These messages pop up at the bottom of the screen “Transferring data from s0.wp.com…” or “Transferring date from S2.wp.com.”) What is going on and how can I fix this problem?
Thank you, Louise PhillipsThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There’s no known issue I am aware of.

My friend Louise Phillips (theintermediateperiod.wordpress.com) is no longer able to sign in to her account to post a reply to this thread:
“Thank you for the very prompt reply. I am using a Sony SVF 15A (Vaio Flip) laptop, purchased in 2013, my browser is Firefox 29, with a wired connection.
I have done everything in the list, and there has unfortunately been no change. There were never any error messages, just “Transferring data from s0.wp.com…” and “Transferring date from S2.wp.com.” in a little box which popped up on the lower left-hand corner of the screen when wordpress was attempting a task.
It is now impossible to sign in, just the “Transferring data from s0.wp.com…” box, and the page looks like it does during a regular sign in (I have taken a screenshot if that would help)” -
I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

And what is the ISP in question? I am getting some reports consistent with ISPs throttling WP.com. Have her try it on a smartphone using a dataplan, not wifi. Or go to Starbucks and try it there.

I restarted the computer and have been allowed back into the blog and everything seems fine. Thank you very much Timethief and Raincoaster, you were really helpful.

Hi there!
I can see that Louise was able to log back in recently. Can you verify this? If this remains a problem, can you kindly ask her if she’s tried clearing browser cache and cookies?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookiesIf that doesn’t help, please ask her to try using another browser:
If she recently installed a browser plugin or a firewall/antivirus program, disabling them may help.
Let me know what happens. Good luck!

Hello, This is Louise. I was able to sign in, but not perform any tasks (and I can’t sign in any more). I’ve installed Internet Explorer and it doesn’t work.
It says “Connected to s0.wp.com,” in a little box on the side of the screen, when I try to log in.
Thanks, Louise. -
Hi!
Could you ask Louise if she tried all the steps timethief and I suggested? If those didn’t work, this most likely is caused by a faulty Internet connection. In that case, it would be best that she called up her ISP about it. She may also try connecting via her mobile phone’s data plan or go out to a nearby Starbucks to see if her existing Internet connection is indeed the culprit.
As always, let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help. Thanks!

Hello, It’s Louise, I am now able to access the blog through Internet Explorer. Someone is coming in tomorrow to check the connection.
Thanks to everyone for all of their help and patience.
