Why does my blog followers number 181 but the 'Join other followers' shows 253?
-
The number of followers on my blog (181) doesn’t match with the ‘join other followers’ at the bottom of my blog. The numbers matched until two days ago and then the second number jumped to 253.

Hi there!
Your “join other followers” widget shows your blog followers in addition to any connected social network followers that you have on your site.
In your site’s stats pages, you have 181 followers on WordPress.com and 72 on Facebook:
http://d.pr/i/DGEpIf you add the two numbers together, you get 253. Did you recently connect your WordPress.com site to your Facebook page? If so, that would explain the recent jump in that number.
I hope that clarifies things! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the quick response! Problem solved. However I just discovered another problem related to having recently connected my WordPress to my Facebook page. This morning when I tried to make a comment on my Facebook page, it wouldn’t allow to do so. I had to go into WordPress publish edit and cancel the WP-Facebook connection. Then I was allowed to post on Facebook.
Does this indicate that I will have to okay the WP-Facebook connection with each post and then disconnect after the post is published on Facebook?

You shouldn’t need to approve the connection every time you want to share a post. Can you let me know how you tried to share your post and I can see if there’s something obvious going on?
If you still have problems, please follow these steps to fully disconnect and reconnect your site to Facebook:

I will provide some background for you. This morning I added some new material to an existing page on my blog titled ‘Health Tips’. There is no button on this page to publish automatically to Facebook, hence I attempted to post my own message on my Facebook page. I typed the message with my blog address and when I hit ‘Post’ a message popped up saying I was not allowed to do this. So I figured it had something to do with recently connecting my WP blog to my Facebook page, and that is why I ended up disconnecting.

Could you send us a screenshot of the page where you’re seeing this? You can upload the screenshot the media library of your blog.
Otherwise rephrase the “I was not allowed to do this” error message.
Thank you!
