Why does my blog have two addresses?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi guys, something weird happened when trying to register my new blog… I’m looking to register debriefingblog.com (which I think I’ve done?) but it is still coming up with two addresses for this site – http://www.debriefingblogdotcom1.wordpress.com and debriefingblog.com

I’m very new to all of this and I can’t seem to find what I’m doing wrong. I believe I had purchased the domain name and email address but now I’m not sure. When I go to debriefingblog.com in my browser nothing comes up.

Please help! I’m sure I’ll be fine once I can get started, this is probably such a stupid question.
    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

On WordPress.com, custom domains, like debriefingblog.com, must be associated with WordPress.com sites, like debriefingblogdotcom1.wordpress.com. You will only see the debriefingblogdotcom1.wordpress.com address when you’re administering the site.

For more information about the differences between domain registration, hosting, and mapping, please see our page All About Domains:

Also, I have visited debriefingblog.com and viewed several of its pages, and it appears to be functioning correctly:

The issue you encountered was most likely due to either your browser’s cache, or DNS not yet being up-to-date.

Can you please try clearing out your cache and cookies?

In regard to email, we do not provide email hosting, but you can connect email hosting from another provider to your custom domain. Here are instructions for using email with your custom domain:
