Why does my domain say inactive… and why can i not work on my site?

  • Unknown's avatar

I purchased a domain back in November. I also did a trial with a business account. I decided the business account was not for me. Now, for some reason I can’t use my site and it is coming up as inactive. I want to use my domain that I purchased.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Are you talking about this domain?

    oakgrovetreeexperts.com

It looks like the domain was canceled and is now available for repurchase. You can purchase it by going to Store > My Domains in your Dashboard. Take a look below for more information:

How can the domain be cancelled but I was not refunded? I want my site back.
Why do you guys make it so hard to communicate as well? It’s very hard to get clear answers.
Please advise on who can reactivate my domain since I was not refunded.

Please note that the domain was never registered through us. You only had a domain mapping. That is for domains registered elsewhere that you would like mapped to your WordPress.com site. Please contact the registrar of your domain regarding the cancellation.

If you are able to get the domain back from the registrar, let me know and I can reinstate the domain mapping. Note that the domain mappings will only work if the registration is valid.

I have another site that is mapped somewhere else. That site is oakgrovetree.com
I bought the domain Oakgrovetreeexperts first, was offered a free two week trail for the business plan. I didn’t like the plan and asked for it to be canceled. Somehow you have canceled my domain. I still paid for it and would like to use it. I have all the emails saved. The rep that helped me cancel the business plan was Siobhan.
    Please activate my account

    Hi there,

So I took a look at your conversation with Siobhan and you stated that you wanted a cancellation and the auto-renewal disabled. It was removed back in November 2014 from your account and you weren’t charged $299.

You then added a domain mapping: oakgrovetreeexperts.com, but not a registration. This again is for domains registered elsewhere. It looks like you haven’t registered it elsewhere though. So I can provide you a $13 credit for the incorrect domain mapping that you purchased. A full domain registration is $18/year or $26/year with private registration.

You can purchase the domain as I mentioned above (you will have a credit for $13).
