Why does my latest post not appear in the tag feeds I tagged it with?

  Ok, the word limit prohibits asking a proper question so I’ll just spit it out. Is WP ‘scrubbing’ my latest post from the tag feeds? If so, Why? And does this happen solely at the discretion of WP staff?

  Please clarify, your assistance is appreciated.

  Hi there,
  I checked on your site and found that the latest post you have is tagged with “bataan-death-march”. I searched for the particular tag in my reader and I found that your latest post was the first post under the tag, https://wordpress.com/tag/bataan-death-march/. I picked this tag randomly.

  Here is a screenshot of the feed when I searched for the tag.

  I don’t think WordPress is scrubbing your posts and as far as I can tell, the feeds are automatically generated. It is not curated by the staff and is not at their discretion.

  I am thinking, you didn’t notice your latest posts because you searched before the Feed was generated. Feeds get generated at specific intervals, so there may be a little delay in posts getting displayed under each tag feed.
  Do understand that there are a humongous number of blogs hosted at WordPress.com that needs to be tagged and indexed frequently. Tagging and indexing can be done only at certain intervals to make the tagging efficient and usable for the users.

  Hello Saru,

  Thank you very much for the thoughtful and informative reply. Very astute observations I might add, and thank you sincerely for taking the time to verify and check the problem for me.

  After Posting the original question, I rechecked my blog again and found the problem. I had exceeded the tag and category limit (of 15 combined total) and therefore my post was not being allowed to show in the feed. I adjusted the number of tags and categories and it has worked fine since.

  The fault was my own and I am still learning all of the ins and outs of blogging. Your kind response has aided me in that learning. I sincerely thank you for your time and efforts.

  Glad to hear that you got your issues sorted out by yourselves, and more so for pointing out on what fixed the issue for you. Please do mark this thread as resolved if you haven’t already. That will help people searching the forums in the future.
