Why does my Menu Editor keep crashing?

The past two days I have been doing a lot of work editing our site menu, but every time I make a change and update my menu, it crashes. I’m not talking about once or twice, I’m talking about of the 7 or 8 times I’ve updated my menu, every time it loads the changes the page crashes. I then have to press refresh, it crashes again (with that cute “Oops…it must be Matt’s fault” page, haha which I must admit makes it less frustrating!) and then when I go back to my homepage, I see that sometimes the changes take and sometimes they don’t.
We’re initiating a lot of site changes over the next two weeks and It’ll be really difficult if the menu page doesn’t save and go back to the menu editor, but just keeps crashing. Am I doing something wrong?

You have quite a few pages there, and that may be causing some browsers to crash.
Would you please tell us which browser (and version of) you’re using?

Sorry, I just saw your response.
I’ve tried both Chrome 17.0.963.79 and Firefox Version 3.5.7
If the number of pages we have is the issue, I guess I understand. Again, sometimes the changes will take and sometimes they wont. I’m specifically talking about http://journal.probeinternational.org
Are there any browsers I could use that handle our amount of pages better than others?

That version of Firefox is a bit old. Can you update to the current version, which is 11.0?
