Why does my name have the words 'dotcom' in it? How Do I Remove?

    Hello,

    I just started the blog site. I started with the FREE site. HOWEVER, when I looked at my BLOG URL LINK it says: http://www.examplesiteDOTCOM.wordpress.com Why is the dotcom on the link? Is there a way to remove it and just have examplesite.com.wordpress.com or something like that. I do not like the way that looks and I know of others who have wordpress without that ‘dotcom’ on there. Please let me know asap. Thank you!!

    You typed in lorindabuckingham.com for your blog name – periods are not allowed so the software translated it for you

    You can have lorindabuckingham.wordpress.com – if you want assuming nobody else has grabbed it

    Just register a new blog and use the old one for practice or something

    if you want lorindabuckinghamcom. – then you will need to buy the custom domain name then domain map it to your blog here – cost I think $18.-/yr I think
