Why does my nickname @ appear at the top of each post?

Under each post title after where it says Filed under category name, I see ‘Skepticat @’. What is the purpose of this and can I get rid of it?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To my knowledge you cannot get rid off it. The idea is that a blog can have many authors or contributors, so each posting needs to be attributed to the respective author. You can change your nickname, but you cannot get rid of it displaying on your blog. Or can you? With the CSS Upgrade you can, but on most themes using CSS to delete the nickname will also erase the time and date and categories and tags under the post. Besides, displaying you nickname is part of your Internet presence, call it branding, if you like. I for one wouldn’t want to blog without a name.

You could change your theme, actually. Not every theme does it.

Thanks for the responses. I also wouldn’t want to blog without a name and my nickname is also my blog name. It’s mostly the @ that bothers me because it looks silly. I wouldn’t object to ‘by nickname’ at all.

I have just seen another blog with the same theme. Now I understand that ‘nickname @’ is supposed to be followed by the time of posting. I’ve customised my settings not to show the time of postings.’nickname @ 3.25′ looks fine. ‘nickname @’ followed by empty space looks silly. Damn!
