Why does my old blog still show after transferring to a self hosted site?

I transferred my wordpress.com blog to a wordpress.org self hosted site (bluehost) but when I try to access the new blog I keep getting the old one to show up even though I changed the nameservers to point to bluehost. Even when I change the theme on the bluehost blog it will show up while I’m logged in but when I leave and come back to it after awhile my old blog will show up.

You might be having some issues with your browser’s cache or cookies continuing to redirect you back to your previous site. You can try using a different browser or you can clear your cache and cookies by following these instructions:

Thanks for the reply. I did this last night and it has not helped, I’ve also used a couple different browsers as well as have people try to access the site and still the old one comes up

It looks like you have two of your nameservers pointed to BlueHost and two of them pointed to a content delivery network called Cloudflare which stores snapshots of your site and then delivers them in some cases to speed up your site’s resolution time. It may be that cloudflare is delivering content from your old site, however you would need to contact them to determine this.
If you would like to remove WordPress.com from the equation entirely, you can always transfer your domain to another domain registrar and then delete your blog with WordPress.com. I believe that BlueHost provides domain registration services themselves or you could chose another domain registrar. If you would like to do so, you can follow the steps found right here:
