Why does my saved post not display? Is there a way to recover a post?

Twice now (two separate occasions, two separate posts), my post has disappeared after I saved it. This is highly irritating and I’m losing trust WordPress. Why does my saved post not display? Is there a way to recover a post?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I’m sorry that this happened! I’d be happy to look into it for you. It would be helpful to get a little more information.

Can you please provide me the title of the post you are talking about?

Do you remember the exact date you started writing the draft post?

If it is a draft of a post that is already published, you can edit the post and look at the post revisions and restore the version you were working on . You can find more information about that here.

    Thank you!

“A New Year” is the most recent post it happened to.

I wrote the post, added links and media, saved multiple times, then I tried to preview the post before publishing and I could not get a preview. I left the window to try and preview another way and I lost the whole post – apparently nothing saved. So I had to rewrite the whole post. It’s mainly irritating and makes me not want to use WordPress anymore. This is the second occasion a draft hasn’t saved.

    HI there,

I’m so sorry that this happened – that’s our fault. One thing you can do to prevent this from happening is to immediately make any post you are working on private by editing the Visibility to Private in the Publish module. Then, instead of saving each time, publish it. Then when you are ready to post you can change the Visibility to Public. This way you can view all your revisions and restore the one you want.
