why does my site have an incorrect security signature

  I clicked on my own site name in a post on another WordPress site and got:

  johnbairdrogers.com uses an invalid security certificate.

  The certificate is only valid for the following names:
  *.wordpress.com, wordpress.com

  What’s up with that? Will others going to my site get the same message?

  Hi John.

  This error sometimes comes up while you’re logged into a WordPress.com site with a custom domain registered to it.

  This is because, while you’re signed in, we use an SSL certificate to encrypt your connection and this is signed to WordPress.com, however, your connecting via a custom domain, johnbairdrogers.com. We have a little more information, including a guide on how to prevent this error showing, here:
