Why does text not show when I paste to new post screen, or edit screen?

When I copy from Word and then paste on “New Post Screen” text does not show. A word count shows at the bottom as well red squiggly lines sporadically, what’s up with WordPress.org?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Please note that Microsoft Word contains a lot of extra code when you copy/paste into our Post editor. This doesn’t mesh very well with web pages. In order to allow the visual editor to process text from Word, we have included a different window for you to paste in to. You can read about it right here:

    Microsoft Word

Also, I see that you mentioned WordPress.org? Are you talking about your WordPress.com site or WordPress.org? To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.

I think I misstated my problem. I have tried reopening many of past articles that I had already posted, they will not show. I have tried entering articles on the wordpress site but there is not even a cursor. I have tried to post new articles, but again, there is absolutely nothing!

I was totally happy with the way the site worked the previous year and a half, but now the site is unusable so if you cannot fix the problem I am due a refund and for sure will not sign up again!

I have begun looking at other blogging sites because I am beginning to think this is simply a way to get me to sign up for the more expensive .com address.

This looks like a browser issue. I’m not completely sure, but I’d like to rule that out. Can you please try clearing out your cache and cookies using the guide below?

Also, make sure you are using the latest version of your browser:

In addition, can you also try going into your Dashboard in Google Chrome and Safari?

Let me know how this works out!

    Hi Grace,

At least you solved a major portion of my problem and I can now use the miracles of WordPress, albeit, on a Safari browser. I deleted cache and programmed it to automatically clear the cache each time computer is shut down though that is somewhat of a pain for me to remember the website addresses each time.

So, I will become a Safari user from now on even though Firefox was the browser of preference.

Thank you so much for your well-heeded, advice.
