Why does text show up over my header image?
-
I’m just getting started setting up this blog. I chose one of the custom templates provided for a theme and I uploaded an image for the header. However, when it displays on the blog site.. there is text showing up over my header such as //home or //about depending on what page the user is on. How do I get rid of this text from showing up over my header image?
Thank you.
Dan

This the the title of the page you’re currently viewing and a “feature” of the theme.
Unfortunately, there is no way to disable it, but you can adjust them at Appearance -> Theme Options -> Template Headings in your blog’s Dashboard.

Hmm. Thank you. When I opened the blog it had 2 pages: Home & About. I was able to remove it from the Home page but don’t see a way to keep it from showing up when I create other pages. Not a big fan of that. Should I pick a new template or is that an attribute of most of them. I can’t imagine anyone liking how that appears considering the menu at the top tells you where you have navigated to. That seems unnecessary.

This is just a feature of the theme you’re using. It’s one of most un-blog-like themes and considered more of a “magazine” theme.
I don’t recall any of our other 141 themes that do this kind of header overlay.

Gotcha. I was driving myself crazy trying to get rid of it. I’ll try a different theme and see if I have better luck. Thanks for the quick reply.
