Why does the auttomatic control panel not list my new domain?
-
Dear Sir or Madame,
about three years ago I registered my Blog “cantodelmediterraneo.wordpress.com”
to the website http://www.cantomediterraneo.com. This year I stopped paying for this site, because I thought, it would continue on the cantodelmediterraneo.wordpress.com website anyways. This did not happen. In order to recover my blog contents, I re-paid for the cantomediterraneo.com website. WordPress told me right after my purchase to change my
name servers fromNS39.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
NS40.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
to these:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
I followed all the guidelines I found online, which brought me to the “automattic control panel” where i should see – in theory – my domain http://www.cantomediterraneo.com. But it doesn´t appear there!
Could you please tell me where it is? Did sth. go wrong with the payment maybe?
In order to get help with the changes I needed to contact my “registar”. On the whois website I was told it would be Wildwestdomains. On the phone, these told me it is Godaddy. I called Godaddy but they told me they cannot see the “owners name” of http://www.cantomediterraneo.com and therefore they cannot be sure it´s me.
Did WordPress sell me a domain which has already been sold to something else maybe?
Many thanks for your help,
kind regards

Hi there,
It looks like the domain expired, and reverted back to the registrar. At this point, there is no getting it back.
I have refunded your mapping. You will see the reimbursement from PayPal within about a week.
If you re-bought that domain through GoDaddy, you can map it to the blog:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/If you don’t currently own that domain, it looks like someone else has purchased it in the meantime.

Hey Zandyring,
Thank you very much for your last reply and for the reimbursement of the mapping. My excuses for my own late reply.
Unfortunately the domain has been purchased by someone else already. I would like to see my blog at least under the .wordpress.com extension, but when I put the name “http://cantomediterraneo.wordpress.com” it says that the author has deleted his blog. But I haven’t done that! Right now, I am the only person that can still see the blogs content.
How can I make it visible to everybody on the .wordpress.com extension again?
Many thanks in advance and kind regards!

Hi hamamellis,
I can see your blog just fine here: http://cantodelmediterraneo.wordpress.com/
It is a slightly different URL than what you show in your comment, however. It may be that you registered your domain as a slightly different name than your original blog URL.
