Why does the blog subscriptions widget appear as a "following" tab in sidebar?

  When I’m logged-in to WordPress.com, the blog subscriptions widget appears as a “following” tab in sidebar. I’ve never seen this until today. I haven’t looked at it when I’m not logged-in.

  It shows a “Follow” or “Following” link depending on if you already follow the blog or not. This option is similar as the one in your Admin Bar.
