Why does the create menu function not see my pages so I can add them?
-
I have created multiple pages and want them to be Menu items, each has their order number set 0 through 6 as I wish them displayed. I’m using a theme that supports the new Menu method, but it does NOT display any pages: says instead ‘No Items.’
Even pages created after creating a Menu (with no content because there is nothing to use), and even when checking the auto fill box, NOTHING appears, no menu is constructed, there is no way to add anything to the menu.
This feature, like the Profile feature, BOTH WORKED when I started the new blog, and then STOPPED WORKING ALTOGETHER. The more I use WordPress, the more features stop working – ONE A DAY, it seems. I can neither create a new profile, assign a Gravatar, or create a Menu. WordPress is F*$$ed and they expect me to want to upgrade? The Forums are useless. I could go months before anyone who knows anything deems to answer. So where are the ‘happiness engineers?’
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I apologise that you think the forums are useless, they are after all, mainly answered by volunteers who are donating their time and effort to assist other people. Staff do assist on the forums, but as you can expect they are pretty busy, and any thread that needs their attention (as there are a number of things only they can do) the threads are tagged with ‘modlook’ to bring it to their attention.
You can create a custom menu and choose what is up there (which pages, categories, links) by going to Appearance ->Menus, which I’m guessing you are aware of. The pages should be visible if you have published them and by looking at your site, I can already see some pages that are tabs on the menu. When you press create a new menu, and then click on pages, does nothing come up? You may need to click on View All, since the default is Most Recent.
You can assign a gravatar at Users – My Profile and then by clicking on Change your Gravatar.
When you say create a new profile what exactly are you referring to? Do you want another wordpress account? Another blog?

1) If it said “No items”, then the pages you had created were drafts or private. Now that your pages are public, they will be available.
2) If you only want links to all your published pages in the header, then you don’t need a custom menu at all.
For details on menus see this post of mine:
