Why does the footer in Reader keep scrolling off the bottom?

The subject line says it all. If I go to the bottom of the page for a link on the footer — for Support, for example — the infinite scroll functionality causes the footer to disappear. This is frustrating.

The Reader is designed for infinite scroll, so you never have click a Next link to see more posts.
The footer links are easily reachable almost anywhere else, including http://wordpress.com/
