why does the googlemaps shortcode not work like the original google iframe code?

  I am using google maps to track a yacht. Google maps created some working code for that, which you can inspect at http://sciw.lima-city.de/2013/Libertad.html
  Now when I embed the same code in wordpress, it is converted to “googlemaps …” and does no longer work.
  Any idea how to embed the working code in the blog?

  You cannot use that new Google engine maps. You have to use this one > http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/

  the page http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/ points me exactly to map.google.com, which I have used…

  In a nutshell, the code that Google is using in the new maps engine does not yet work on WordPress.com, so you will need to use the older maps.
