why does the preview not match the published page?
-
your guide says: Preview will show you what your draft post will look like if you publish it.
It does not. Especially with media uploads and formatted content. quite time consuming and frustrating. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Right, it doesn’t do that really. So either do your formatting in an offline blog editor like Windows Live Writer or simplify your formatting.

All I want to be able to do is resize my images and place them around my text the way it shows on preview. I used to be able to do it on my other blog effortlessly, but now even that is proving quite tedious. Also, I seem to be missing options on presenting my images ( gallery/ slide show/ tile etc) . Is WordPress withdrawing features? Urgently, how do I retain the sizes of my images so that my blog looks neat and not haphazard like it is now? Is there a simple way to achieve that?

Staff have changed how the image editor operates. You may find a fix in this thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/image-resize-1/page/16?replies=452 but I can’t guarantee that you will.

For a few weeks there’s been a sticky post at the top of the forum about the recent changes to image editing, etc. It’s gone now, but yes, basically WP.com wants you to let Jesus take the wheel and forget rigid control over formatting. You can work around this by using a smart offline blog editor like Windows Live Writer. You should still have options for galleries etc, provided you havent’ changed themes.
