Why does the preview page not reflect the way I want my post to look? It edits and formats on its ow

    Hi!
It was once a pleasure to write a blog. Now its a little irritating when the content which I write and the way I want it to placed does not happen. Line spacing does not happen. If I wish to highlight just one letter, it is impossible, as one has to select from the drop down menu -“paragraph” or “heading”. Which selects the whole paragraph. Fonts can be given colours either.
Images I choose can’t be edited properly. Especially the suggested images come as a link so there is no way one can edit it and place it as per ones own choice. And if we try and attach images via Url, the editing tool has become more dumb than smart.
I thought as a paid member, some things would improve. Instead I am going through a royal pain.
If you can, just check the recent article I was writing. The image of Kofi Annan, via suggested images get pasted as link; this can’t be edited. Next if you select an image via Url and then wish to justify it along with text on left or right. It shows differently in the edit page and differently in the preview page.
Infact the previous article too gave me a lot of trouble. I just let it be.

Please find a way, to solve this problem.

    Regards,
    Sandeep Goswami

    Hi Sandeep!

I’m going to do my best to address each issue you discuss. Please let me know if I miss anything!

    Line spacing does not happen

I’m not entirely sure what you mean by this. Your latest post “Prime Minister, did Indian Policy catch up with the Science of Climate Change in CoP 20?” appears to have proper spacing between paragraphs. Could you provide a specific example?

If I wish to highlight just one letter, it is impossible, as one has to select from the drop down menu -“paragraph” or “heading”. Which selects the whole paragraph.

If you’re trying to give a heading to a particular string of words, those words will need to be on their own line like this:

    http://d.pr/v/Sted

In the first example there, the entire paragraph turns into a heading font. In the second example, with Lorem Ipsum on its own line, it does not.

Fonts can be given colours either.

This can be achieved using the secondary menu shown here:

Especially the suggested images come as a link so there is no way one can edit it and place it as per ones own choice.

Could you explain where you’re seeing these suggested images? You should be able to add images to your post and align them following the instructions here:
