Why does the renewal notice take us to this public forum?

I received a notification about billing, which offered only ONE WAY to get my questions answered: this form (https://wordpress.com/help/contact, in which I am typing this paragraph right now). This form indicates that it is a public forum. No sane person would want to talk about their account billing details in a public forum, FFS, so why would the wordpress billing email send me here? If this is not a public forum, why does the introduction to this form indicate that it is public? The irony is that the email said that coming here would put me in touch with ‘Happiness Engineers’ (barf). I’m not happy at all right now because I am being forced to track down the customer support phone number out of lack of trust for my keeping my privacy here in this form.

@rebeccabrannon – WordPress.com does not have a phone support number, so any number you find will not be for WordPress.com Support.
Regarding why you’re being routed to the public support forums – it’s because the paid upgrade is not associated with the WordPress.com user account you’re currently logged into. To get access to email or live chat support (if this is for the
csmbrannon.wordpress.comsite), you need to be logged into the user account on your site who purchased the Premium subscription. The email address that received that billing notice would be the one you need to log into.I hope that clarifies things!

No, that does not help. I’ve tried logging in, but that still only gets me back here to this public forum without any route to reach an actual person. I have specific (private) needs to renew my subscription — I can’t just do it with my credit card, so I need an actual human being to talk to in order to explain what needs to be done. This is incredibly frustrating! I am pretty annoyed at how difficult it is to reach a human for special-need tasks.
