Why does the Responsive theme I activated look nothing like it?

  I activated the Responsive theme and it looks nothing like it. There is no large center image and the only image I can post is for the header. There is no “theme options” under the “Appearance” tab that lets me edit the “Theme Elements”, “Logo Upload”, “Home Page”…there is no “call to action” button etc…I need some serious help..This may be a silly question but it is very frustrating.
