Why does the Translation Page does not have a pemalink ref number.

I normally blog on www,cyprusscene.com but I am trying to help some friends with the building of their blog site http://www.tfrnorthcyprus.wordpress.com and I have tried to create for them a Translation Page and either I have made an error in the html coding in the text screen or as the permalink reference does not have a reference code, the translation action does not work. If you are prepared to communicate with me direct with some advice, my email is (email visible only to moderators and staff)

There is no FTP access and we cannot install plugins because this is a multiuser blogging platform ie. our blogs are not free standing and there are security issues that would arise if that access were allowed.

Google translation widgets are JavaScript and it’s stripped out to preserve security on this mutiuser blogging platform. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/

Sorry if I did not state my problem clearly. I have created a translation page in http://tfrnorthcyprus.wordpress.com/ and this is accessed by a translation tab and all has been set up as described on onecoolsitebloggingtips.com. All works well with the translate button connecting to the translate page. When selecting a a language choice it gives a message in that language of choice ” file not found” Can you give me some clues please Timethief as all works perfect in my blog www,cyprusscene.com and checking each in text edit mode, I cant spot the error

Hello Timethief, I hope you can please give me some clues as to where I am going wrong as described above.

I am also confused as a new blogger as I have sent a couple of questions to the support line and received rapid and very helpful replies. This time however my question to them ends up posted into a forum and I am no nearer to finding a way of correcting my errors???? Merry Christmas and a Happy New year

You can copy the code to translate to 53 different languages from my translations page. Then you have to replace “onecoolsitebloggingtips.com” with your own blog’s URL (address) throughout that entire code everywhere it appears.

As I said before I have done as you have said, but when clicking a translate choice it returns a file not found? I suspect a small error in my code but not being used to working with code I find it very hard to spot. Tnnak you again replying.

That means either you created a custom menu and did not include the page in it (the page must be public and not private or password protected) or you deleted the page.

When you delete a post, page, comment, or media file from your blog, it will be moved to the Trash folder. You have separate trash folders for posts, pages, comments, and uploads. If you have not permanently deleted it you will be able to restore the page from Trash. http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trash

Thanks for the information, the page is public and responds to the translate button but what does not work is the individual translation selectors which responding with archive not found so somehow I seem to have a code or reference error.

Hello Timethief, many thanks for your help the page is now working and I think the problem was having two blogs open int two different browsers with aticles being toggled on a off during the preparation period and I got really lostl. It is a learning curve and pehaps I may be able to offers others help at some stage. Thank you again and do have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
