Why does Upcoming Events Widget displays Incorrect dates and times?

  Hi. I am using the Upcoming events widget to pull in dates for our members for meetings. The widget is displaying a meeting date incorrectly and twice instead of only one listing. I checked the calendar, and the event is listed correctly in the calendar. On the date the widget is displaying, there is no event listed. Is this a widget issue, or a Google calendar issue?

  Hi there,

  I didn’t see any Upcoming Events widget on your blog currently. Are you talking about the Calendar which is being displayed right here?

  If so, we’ve actually had a couple of users mention similar issues with the Google Calendar displaying “wonky” information. They’ve had good luck removing it and re-adding it.

  There is something amiss with the Upcoming Events widget. We are aware of the issue and are looking into it.

  We made an update to the upcoming events widget this morning to address a problem where recurring events were displayed in the wrong timezone.

  The issue you mentioned where one of the meetings was showing twice sounds like a separate issue. I checked http://huntsvillelakesprobus.com/ and I see that there’s a note in the sidebar to check the calendar page. If you add back the upcoming events widget, could you let me know if any of the meetings are showing up as duplicates?

  I have reinstalled the Upcoming Events widget and it is now showing times correctly but has skipped one event- we have two meetings showing on the Google calendar for November 8 and it is only pulling the afternoon event – skipping the morning event.
  On the good side, it is no longer showing duplicate events or weird hours.

  I checked the source .ics file listed in the upcoming events widget settings on the http://huntsvillelakesprobus.com/ blog and I couldn’t see two events listed for Nov 8. If you see the same problem happen again, please reply back here to let us know.

  We’ve added one more update today which we think should cover the majority of cases where recurring events were showing up with the wrong time in some cases. If you’re still having any trouble, please reply here and let us know!
