Why does WordPress eat some tags?
-
Does anyone have trouble with WordPress ‘eating’ tags? You type them on a post and they just disappear? I’m well under the 15-tag limit. Tonight I tried ‘it’s elm pollen season’, along with some other things, and they all just vanished. Some days any tag with an apostrophe in it will vanish. No profanity, nothing racist, nothing derogatory. Just gone.

Hi @aggiebot5,
More than likely, this is a browser issue. Try the following:
- Please visit https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/ and share the URL next to the green button in your next reply.
- Clear your browser cache.
- Try switching your web browser to the latest version of Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. You might also want to try out the official WordPress.com app.
- Disable any content blockers, such as Adblock, and any other browser extensions.
- If you’re using Safari, un-check Prevent cross-site tracking in your preferences.
- If you’re using an iOS or macOS device, turn off Private Relay.
If the issue persists, can you please share an example post where this is happening?
