Why does WordPress’ gallery feature no longer allow navigating between images?
-
Back in May, I added a gallery to a WordPress blog post. When I click on one of the images in that post, the full size image is displayed with arrows on the left and right side of the screen. Clicking on these arrows allows the user to navigate between photos in the post. Here is that post: http://charlesmagnuson.com/blognuson/west-windy-hill/
Today, if I add a gallery to a blog post, WordPress no longer permits users to navigate between photos. Instead, the user has to close the photo they are viewing before being able to view a new photo. Here is a blog post exhibiting that behavior: http://charlesmagnuson.com/blognuson/%F0%9F%93%B7-harley-hammock/
My questions are these: Why has WordPress regressed in terms of the usefulness provided by the gallery feature? Why is it no longer possible to navigate between photos when a gallery is added to a blog post?
